Romania: Hydro-mineral resources law draft, withdrawn for review

The Ministry of Economy has withdrawn the draft of the hydro-mineral resources law for revision, announced on Tuesday, the minister Gheorghe Simon, during the talks of the Senate’s Economic Committee members. He states that it’s about quality and quantity sold issues.

”We want no fraud with everything it means bottled water. (…) I want to know where it comes from, what the water contains and how many bottles were bottled,” Simon said.

The minister underlined that the draft will be revised and said that it could get to Parliament in the next session, along with two other projects – mining and royalties laws.

The Minister of Economy also stated that there is an intention to make an investment at the National Company of Mineral Waters (SNAM) level in five water bottling plants.
