Romania: Imports of steel and iron, higher than exports

Romania exported iron and steel worth of EUR 2.2 billion in 2017, a value by 28% higher than in the same period of the previous year, the National Statistics Institute (INS) informs.

The iron and steel imports amounted to EUR 3,061 billion, by 26% higher than in 2016, with a deficit of EUR 859.8 million in this segment, capital.ro reports.

In 2017, Romania’s FOB exports totalled EUR 62.642 billion, up by 9.1% against the previous year, and the CIF imports totalled EUR 75.598 billion, up by 12.2%.
