KMG International Group, the former Rompetrol Group, plans to reach a market share of 25 percent in Romania and 12 percent in Bulgaria over the next four years, the group said.
Currently, KMGI has a 16 percent share in Romania, according to market info, capital.ro informs, quoting news.ro.
”For the next period, we plan to continue to develop KMG International activities and operations in the region, not only in Bulgaria and Rep. of Moldova, but also in Romania and Georgia – where we have been present since 2005,” Catalin Dumitru, Senior Vice President for Operational Activities of KMG International, stated.
According to him, the expansion of Rompetrol’s activities and operations in the Black Sea region was a natural and organic evolution of the group, and completion of modernizing and growing programs of the Petromidia refinery.
The development of the Moldovan and Bulgarian subsidiaries, as well as those in Romania and Georgia, were also supported by the Petromidia refinery programs, which allowed the annual growth of raw materials – from 3.1 million tonnes in 2002 to over 3.8 million tonnes in 2007 and 5.4 million tonnes in 2016, but also the quality of the fuels produced.
