Romania: Negotiations for Cernavoda’s 3 & 4 units to be resumed in September

The Ordinary General Meeting of Nuclearelectrica Shareholders has approved for next month the resumption of negotiations with Chinese company CGN for building 3 and 4 reactors in Cernavoda, company’s general manager Daniela Lulache stated on Friday in a press conference about the balance sheet on Nuclearelectrica helm.

According to her, the negotiations will run for a 6-month period.

Moreover, Lulache mentioned that the negotiations for the two units will be resumed this September.

“In my opinion, the 3 and 4 reactors are absolutely mandatory if we want energy independence and energy security. It is absolutely essential for the Romanian state to define its role, contribution, support. It’s a live and dynamic project,” Lulache said.
