State-owned nuclear power producer Nuclearelectrica (SNN) wants to prolong again the negotiations with the Chinese group CGN for building the Cernavoda reactors 3 and 4 by another six months.
The decision will be made in the General Meeting of Shareholders on August 24, reports local Economica.net.
The company’s shareholders will also elect a new provisional Board of Directors with a four-month mandate.
Negotiations between the Romanian state and China General Nuclear Power Corporation on building the reactors 3 and 4 at Cernavoda have been ongoing for almost two years, without any concrete outcome.
In Mid-July, prime minister Mihai Tudose said that there are concrete cooperation prospects with China for building the Cernavoda reactors 3 and 4. He spoke about the investment opportunities in Romania with an official delegation from the Republic of China headed by Liu Yunshan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Central Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China.
