Romania: Senate’s committee removes extra excise on fuel

The extra excise on fuel could be removed, following the vote in the Senate’s budget committee yesterday.

Romania’s Government approved at the end of August the fuel excise increase in two stages, on September 15 and October 1. However, the Senate’s budget committee voted yesterday for the removal of this extra excise on fuel, reports local Hotnews.ro.

The changes to the emergency ordinance will enter into force if the Chamber of Deputies also approves these amendments and the President promulgates the bill.

The Senate’s budget committee also rejected yesterday the ordinance amending part-time contracts. The rejected bill raises the employer’s contributions for part-time contracts to the level of the gross minimum wage.
